Mr & Mrs BG, Benenden, Kent

Brief

A calm, light & spacious kitchen was the criteria for this family. This client works for national interior magazine ‘Good homes’ and had a very clear vision for their new kitchen; neutral painted timber, a social & practical centre island, space for a family dining area, appliances to be well integrated and maximum storage facilities. The style of property called for a design that struck a balance between traditional and contemporary which wasn’t overly fussy or intricately detailed.

Specific Design Features

  • Creation of a walk in larder from old inglenook fireplace
  • Granite work surface in a leathered finish with build in stainless steel trivets
  • Design & build of a traditional false chimney to house Range cooker
  • Integration of appliances such as recessing large fridge freezer into the wall and housing of microwave into centre island
  • In addition to main sink, inclusion of preparation sink
  • Design of deep cupboards for centre island
